Mr. Wiegand

Jordan Wiegand

Manager of Engagement

Bachelor’s Degree, Elementary Education and Teaching, Arcadia University; Master’s Degree, Curriculum and Instruction, University of Scranton; Master’s Degree, Educational Leadership, Saint Joseph’s University

Mr. Wiegand began his career as an elementary teacher at a brick-and-mortar school. He then transitioned to instructional coach, a position he says offered him the opportunity “to impact more students” as well as “support colleagues with best practices.” He has served as an assistant principal in both traditional and online learning environments, helping foster student success across the state of Pennsylvania.

A Pivotal Moment

As a student himself, Mr. Wiegand was not initially headed toward a career in education. It was “a career path I had never thought about,” he says, until “a professor recognized my potential and suggested I consider teaching.” It was a suggestion that changed his life, and the lives of countless students since.

“I am driven by a deep desire to inspire and support students,” Mr. Wiegand says, “guiding them toward growth and success.” What he enjoys most about his role as manager of engagement is “personally connecting with families [and] collaborating with teachers and staff” in order to create a nurturing community where every student achievement “is celebrated and shared.”

An Online Advocate—as a Professional and as a Parent

With deep experience at both traditional and cyber schools, Mr. Wiegand understands the many advantages of online learning. In fact, he has three daughters all enrolled in cyber school. “I have seen firsthand the benefits of flexible pacing and personalized instruction,” he says, “which cater to each child’s unique learning style.”

He also appreciates—as both a professional and a parent—the active role that students’ families play in the educational experience, and the collaborative spirit that exists between parents and educators. Students, parents, teachers, and administrators all share a commitment to “Pennwood Pride,” Mr. Wiegand says. “We provide robust resources to support both academic success and effective instruction, ensuring that everyone has the tools they need to thrive.”
